Lanzhou city in Gansu province is working hard to achieve high-quality development in agriculture, technology and consumption, said local officials.

The city takes the development of agriculture and rural areas as a top priority.

It has built professional farmer cooperatives, introduced agricultural enterprises and cultivated unique industrial clusters.

Lanzhou's overall qualification rate of agricultural products has reached 98 percent, with strict safety standards for food production as well as a certification system.

The city has renovated 26,000 rural toilets, demolished 7,023 abandoned and dilapidated houses in rural areas and created 75 clean villages.

Lanzhou has also boosted its scientific and technological achievements. It has signed 1,396 new technical contracts with a transaction amount of 3.22 billion yuan ($475.49 million), an increase of 17.2 percent year-on-year.

On top of this, it has applied blockchain technology to industrial development and achieved full coverage of 5G in key application scenarios in the urban area.

To resume market confidence, the city has held a series of promotional activities, issued government coupons of 20 million yuan and stimulated consumption worth more than 800 million yuan.

It has established a strategic partnership with China's largest online travel agency Ctrip.com, launched various marketing activities and launched a special train journey from Lanzhou to Longnan, Gansu province.

The city is transforming and upgrading traditional commercial blocks to encourage the development of new business formats such as smart retail, and promote online and offline consumption development models.

The e-commerce transactions of the city reached 66 billion yuan in the first half of 2020, a year-on-year increase of 6 percent.
