Logistics segment fares well last month
China's logistics sector saw steady expansion in November as the broader economic recovery consolidated, data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing showed. The logistics performance index, which tracks business volumes, new orders, employment, inventory turnover, and equipment utility rates in the sector, came in at 57.5 percent last month, up by 1.2 percentage points from October. A reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below that reflects contraction. The index showed accelerated recovery of the sector in November, and all subindexes remained in the expansion range.
Ereenhot sees surge in freight trains to Europe
A total of 2,158 China-Europe freight trains passed through the border port of Ereenhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region in the first 11 months of this year, an increase of 53.4 percent year-on-year, according to the local railway operator. Among them, the number of outbound trains during the period was 1,023, up 54.3 percent year-on-year, while 1,135 inbound trains were recorded, up 52.6 percent, according to China Railway Hohhot Group.
MoU signed to develop 5G smart hospital
Huawei Technologies (Thailand) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a 5G smart hospital with the Faculty of Medicine of Siriraj Hospital under Thailand's Mahidol University, to establish a smart platform that will enhance innovative medical services, local media reported. According to the MoU, the faculty will apply integrated digital technologies using 5G infrastructure, artificial intelligence, big data and cloud edge computing, in order to offer enhanced services. These technologies will bring tremendous benefits to specific areas such as patient monitoring, cloud-based AI diagnoses, data collection and analytics, and resource allocation.
