New products introduced at global exhibition
Local manufacturers shine at ongoing industry event in Hunan province capital Changsha
The 2021 Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition, held from May 19-22 in the capital of Central China's Hunan province, is debuting an array of cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements in the sector.
With the theme of "intelligent new generation of construction machinery", this year's exhibition displays nearly 10,000 kinds of construction machinery products and parts, 10 percent are or will be premiering at the event, the organizers said.
Among the debutantes is a superlarge crawler crane from Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science& Technology, a high-end construction equipment manufacturer headquartered in Changsha.
With a height of 178 meters, the crane is used for hoisting large wind power equipment.
The new product is not only notable for its large lifting tonnage, but also its high-level intelligence, allowing it to be monitored remotely via applications in smartphones.
At Zoomlion's exhibition booth, visitors can experience the company's 5G remote control operation floor. They can create construction pathways with the help of a tablet, so that pump trucks can move automatically according to set paths.
Liugong Machinery, a heavyweight construction machinery supplier based in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, is showcasing a mobile crusher with world-leading technologies at the ongoing CICEE.
With its main task of crushing and recycling construction waste and mine waste, the mobile crusher "can realize multifunctional applications by being equipped with different devices", according to an executive with Liugong Machinery.
"The mobile crusher can be widely used in urban construction, as well as in residential greening and road construction," the executive added.
As green development is also a trend in the construction machinery industry, Liugong unveiled an electric loader at the exhibition, which meets the demand for low carbon dioxide emissions and environmental protection, and can cope with extreme working conditions such as high altitudes, extreme cold and hot weather, according to the company.
In addition, this year's CICEE is demonstrating a string of advanced intelligent technologies, allowing visitors to get to grips with the future of intelligent construction machinery.
BDMC, a company based in Hunan province, is engaged in the research and development of high-precision location services and their applications. Its exhibition booth at the event has attracted visitor attention with its cutting-edge products.
A disaster monitoring and warning system developed by the company can issue early warnings before disasters via satellite remote sensing, to buy time for the evacuation of people.
In July 2020, the system warned of a large landslide in Shimen county in Hunan province, enabling the local government to resettle 33 residents from 14 households in advance and avoid casualties.
Although drones are no longer a rarity, the drones displayed by Hunan NovaSky Electronic Technology are still drawing attention at the CICEE.
NovaSky is a company focusing on electromagnetic detection, sensing and control technologies. It provides product and system integration services for anti-terrorism, search and rescue, high-end security and automotive safety.
Liang Tao, director of safety and emergency products at NovaSky, introduced one of the company's products at the show.
"The drone carries a two-dimensional positioning life detection radar, which can penetrate rubble, floors and other collapsed buildings to locate multiple trapped targets no matter at night or in bad weather such as in rain and snow," Liang said.
