Since its establishment in 1958, the University of Science and Technology of China has made remarkable achievements in talent cultivation, and scientific and technological innovations. Through these achievements, the university has also made enormous contributions to the country's development.

As a key university in China, the USTC is noted for its advanced science and high-tech programs, unique management studies and well-tailored disciplines in humanities.

Internationalization has been the pride and historical heritage of every USTC student and faculty member.

The USTC has compiled a comprehensive handbook for international scholars, offering them services needed for working in the USTC, and has also provided a detailed application guideline on its official website-http://en.ustc.edu.cn/index.htm-to serve overseas applicants.

At the university, the USTC Office of International Cooperation facilitates the entire process of work required for foreign nationals. Moreover, in April 2017, the USTC established its International College to implement a strategy of driving the internationalization of talent cultivation through the internationalization of scientific research.

For USTC students and faculty, scientific research provides inspiration to overcome challenging issues, and they conduct research in both basic and cutting-edge fields to produce high-quality knowledge that can be applied in everyday life.

Hefei, where the USTC is located, is one of China's first national innovation pilot cities. The city, as a leading platform and beacon for large-scale technological innovation, has large-scale scientific facilities for state-of-the-art research in fields such as synchrotron radiation and steady-state superconducting tokamak magnetics.

To build a global innovation center, the university is urgently working to introduce high-level international talents and strengthen international innovation cooperation at high levels. The USTC said it welcomes all high-level talents.

Meanwhile, the university is also welcoming outstanding students throughout the world to this "cradle of future scientists" in China to learn and to grow into the world's top scientific talents.

The USTC offers 35 undergraduate programs, 115 master's programs, and 94 doctoral programs in areas including mathematics, physics, chemistry, material science, engineering science, electronic information, computer science, earth and space sciences, environmental science and other majors across 23 schools and institutes. Among them, seven master's programs and 94 doctoral programs are conducted in English.

With the establishment of the "Forum of Great Minds: Face to Face with Nobel Laureates" initiative, high-level international experts who are Nobel laureates and recipients of similar awards have been invited to visit Hefei and the USTC for strategic forums, seminars, cultural exchanges and other activities.

About 10 scientists, who have won the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal, Wolf Prize or other world-level prizes, have been invited to lecture in Hefei and the USTC.
