Peng, Philippine first lady discuss friendship, better understanding

Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping, called on the people of China and the Philippines to carry forward their traditional friendship and bring the bilateral relationship between the two nations to a new stage.

Peng made the remark on Wednesday when she joined Liza Araneta Marcos, wife of Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr, on a visit to the National Museum of China in Beijing.

Marcos, accompanied by his wife, is making a state visit to China, the first non-ASEAN country Marcos has visited as president.
