World leaders extend congratulations to Xi Jinping on his election as president of the People's Republic of China

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema said that under Xi Jinping's leadership, China has become a major player in the world economy and a model for socioeconomic transformation of developing countries, adding that Zambia looks forward to developing closer relations with China.

Recalling the heads of state meeting with Xi during the Group of 20 Summit last year, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol said they had a conducive dialogue on the development of bilateral relations.

Yoon said he hopes to continue to maintain close communication with Xi in the future and further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
