Exhibition showcases China's engineering might
Changsha plays host to key manufacturers and buyers from across the world
The third Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition kicked off in Changsha city of Hunan province on Friday, aiming to build an innovative and open platform for exchanges.
Themed "New Generation of High-end, Intelligent and New Energy Construction Machinery", the exhibition attracted more than 1,500 companies from China and abroad and some 300,000 people. The transaction volume is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan ($7.19 billion).
Covering 300,000 square meters, the exhibition set up 13 indoor halls that include the conference center, seven outdoor areas and 23 themed zones. Together, they display more than 20,000 novel products.
Compared with the previous two exhibitions, this year's event boasts a higher degree of internationalization.
Terex has brought its latest products, including the J-1175 tracked crusher and the heavy-duty screen 883+, which are classic mobile crushing and screening models, to Changsha after more than 30 days of transportation.
"Construction machinery is a vivid calling card for Changsha. After two consecutive exhibitions, the CICEE has become a first-class global industrial exhibition," said Zhou Zhongwei, general manager of Terex (China) Investment.
"The CICEE has a larger scale, stronger platform functions, better international participation, higher openness and more releases of new products, providing all participants with a better experience and higher returns."
At the exhibition, Guangxi Liu-Gong Machinery displays more than 10 star products in its electric series equipment, including electric loaders, excavators, wide-body vehicles, straight-arm high-altitude operation platforms, forklifts, skid loaders and single steel wheel rollers, showcasing its technological innovation from complete machines to core components in the field of electrification.
Among them, the 856HEMAX electric loader, which is a new 5-metric-ton electric-driven loader developed by LiuGong, has been very popular.
It overturns the traditional fuel-driven loader concept with features such as pure electric drive, strong power, high efficiency, intelligent management, safety and comfort.
Caterpillar's SEM658F electric loader, equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, also makes its debut at this exhibition. It has a range of six to 10 hours and can be fully charged in just 50 minutes with dual-gun fast charging.
The machine achieves zero emissions and helps customers meet their environmental goals.
Caterpillar has brought 16 equipment products including excavators, bulldozers and graders to this exhibition where its first self-developed electric loader made the global debut.
"It can work for eight hours on 50 minutes of charging," said Li Yongping, a product operator. "The global engineering machinery market is slowly recovering and the Chinese market has huge potential."
Sany Heavy Industry showcases electric excavators, loaders and intelligent products. Zoomlion displays the world's largest 2,400-ton all-terrain crane and a 72-meter carbon fiber pump truck.
Sinoboom exhibits new products including the TB58RJPlus, a 60-meter straight-arm crane with five synchronized sections and patented X chassis technology.
In addition to the world's leading engineering machinery companies, there are more small and medium-sized enterprises participating in this exhibition, accounting for about 70 percent of the total.
Shandong Chufeng Heavy Industry Machinery, which participates in the exhibition for the third time, is the first domestic professional manufacturer of high-altitude equipment.
At the previous exhibition, Chufeng grabbed orders worth 70 million yuan. As a result, it brings more products to this year's exhibition.
"Southeast Asia is our important overseas market and the exhibition deeply integrates with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which helps to further enhance the brand's overseas influence," said Shang Zhenfeng, the company's general manager of sales.
