President of Eritrea to visit China

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki will begin a state visit to China on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry has announced. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with the Eritrean leader and Premier Li Qiang will also meet with him, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a daily briefing on Friday. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Eritrea. China believes that the visit will inject new impetus into the development of bilateral relations and push for new progress in bilateral friendly cooperation, Wang said.
