Report: China hikes spending on cloud
China has increased spending on cloud infrastructure services in the first quarter of the year, according to a report by technology market research firm Canalys. Such expenditure on the Chinese mainland hit $7.7 billion in the first three months, up 6 percent from a year ago, Canalys said. The country's spending accounted for 12 percent of the global total, it said. The top four cloud service vendors were Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and Baidu AI Cloud, remaining unchanged in the first quarter, according to the report.
