Measures to boost Xiong'an reviewed
A key meeting of the Communist Party of China reviewed on Friday policy measures to support the high-standard and high-quality construction of the Xiong'an New Area, pledging to encourage the city to "explore new models of modern urban governance with Chinese characteristics".
The meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee — the Party's core leadership — highlighted that the development of Xiong'an has shifted to high-quality construction, high-level management and the high-quality transfer of the non-capital city functions of Beijing to the region.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting, which was held after he inspected Xiong'an and chaired a symposium on the region's development on May 10.
