President to make 2-day state visit to Vietnam
President Xi Jinping will make a state visit to Vietnam from Tuesday to Wednesday, a trip that is expected to pave the way for further elevation of bilateral relations and expansion of cooperation in multiple sectors.
Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will travel to Hanoi at the invitation of Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong, according to the Foreign Ministry.
It will be Xi's second trip to the Southeast Asian country since 2017, when he traveled to the coastal city of Danang for a leaders' meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and to Hanoi for a state visit.
