12 soldiers, 6 terrorists killed in exchange of fire
Twelve soldiers and six terrorists were killed in a clash between security forces and militants in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province on Tuesday, the military said in a statement on Wednesday. The incident happened in the Bannu district of the province, where terrorists "attempted to attack a joint checkpost" of the Pakistani army and paramilitary troops Frontier Constabulary, the statement said. The attack triggered an exchange of fire, forcing the terrorists to drive an explosive-laden vehicle to the perimeter wall of the post, the statement added.

Cybercrime reported every 6 minutes
Australians reported a cybercrime to authorities every six minutes for 12 months to the end of June, according to the country's signals intelligence agency. The Australian Signals Directorate, or ASD, on Wednesday, published the Annual Cyber Threat Report for 2023-24, revealing that cybercrime reports fell slightly from the previous year while financial losses for individuals impacted by cybercrimes increased. According to the report, the ASD received 87,400 cybercrime reports in the 12-month period.
