Former senior advisor expelled from CPC

Qi Tongsheng, a former senior political advisor from northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China due to serious violations of Party discipline and laws, an official statement said on Friday. The decision was made following an investigation by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Qi was a former secretary and chairperson of the leading Party members group of the Ningxia regional committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The investigation found Qi had sought benefits for others in mineral exploitation projects and project contracting, while accepting large sums of money and valuables in return, the statement said.
