Top leader meets with senior Russian official

Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, met with the visiting Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Sergey Shoigu on Friday, the Korean Central News Agency reported on Saturday. Shoigu offered greetings and a signed letter from President Vladimir Putin, while Kim expressed his gratitude and conveyed his greetings, KCNA said. The two sides exchanged views on defending the security interests of the two countries as well as the regional and international situation, KCNA reported.
