Shanxi governor under probe
Jin Xiangjun, governor of Shanxi province, is under investigation after he was accused of seriously violating Party disciplines and national laws, according to an official statement released on Saturday by the country's top anticorruption bodies.
The announcement, jointly issued by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, did not provide further details regarding the nature of the allegations.
Jin, a 60-year-old native of Hunan province, joined the CPC in 1984 and began his professional career in 1990. Over the years, he held various key positions in the provinces of Sichuan and Hainan, and in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. In early 2018, he was appointed deputy mayor of Tianjin. He was named governor of Shanxi in January 2023.
