The 2025 Global Digital Economy Conference, held in Beijing in early July, incorporated advanced technology into its operations, making the event more intelligent, constructive, efficient and engaging.

Besides launching new products, the conference utilized frontier technology to enhance its operations and the attendees' experiences. For instance, the opening ceremony featured an artificial intelligence-generated music video, with lyrics, composition, singing and production all completed by AI. Simultaneous interpretation was provided by the large language model Doubao. Additionally, the event incorporated intelligent seat-finding and interactive holographic teleprompters.

Aiming to drive industry breakthroughs through cutting-edge technology applications and high-level dialogues, the conference hosted 46 forums. They focused on AI integration, digital security, digital elements and emerging sectors like digital healthcare.

Key forums included the Guanchao Forum, the second China Digital Economy "Her Power" Forum, the Global Open Source Innovation and Development Forum, and the China Data Elements 50 Forum.

Also part of the conference, the 2025 Global Digital Economy Innovation Competition demonstrated how AI can empower artists and content creators, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents while promoting the integration of technology with art, culture and tourism.

For the first time, an overseas branch of the conference was set up in Europe, connecting with events such as the Mobile World Congress to share China's digital transformation solutions.

The event also organized international cooperation and matchmaking sessions for Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Domestically, the conference continued its support for the Xizang autonomous region, promoting digital technology in plateau tourism and ecological monitoring. The Forum on Collaborative Innovation and Integrated Development of Digital Economy in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region highlighted regional integration and the connectivity of data element markets.

Beijing's top 10 digital economy benchmark applications were revealed during the event, showcasing how digital technology supports urban development in areas such as smart healthcare, digital culture and smart transportation.

In late June, a digital economy experience week opened at Beijing Fun, a commercial and cultural complex in the city's downtown Qianmen area. It featured a 6,000-square-meter digital economy experience center, offering immersive and interactive experiences using AI and metaverse technology, providing visitors with engaging digital entertainment.

Through collaborations with tech and creative companies, the event presented an outdoor digital lifestyle market, showcasing smart wearables, creative digital products, AI toys, online education services and other offerings.

By highlighting innovation, global collaboration and how AI influences everyday life, the conference underscored Beijing's role as a leader in the global digital economy, setting the stage for future growth and cooperation.
