I've served as a police officer for 36 years, during which time I've investigated over 400 major cases involving explosions and fires. To police like us working in forensic science, the crime scene is a battlefield. We can't show fear or cowardice when there is dense smoke or the possibility of explosions because we need to uncover the facts as quickly as possible. In the age of peace, the police make the most sacrifices and require the most dedication, but we're never afraid.
