Mining industry strengthens bilateral relations in long run

Established in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan Province, MCC Resources Development Co is a local enterprise funded by Metallurgical Corporation of China.

Being a modernized enterprise integrating investment, development, construction, production, and operation, it mainly focuses on the development of non-ferrous metal mineral resources. Its main project, the Saindak Copper-Gold Mine, is the first large-scale modern non-ferrous mine in Pakistan, and also the only non-ferrous metal mine in this country that comprises of mining, concentrating and smelting.

MRDL and MCC are subordinates to China Minmetals, which is a world-class metal mineral development group, ranking 65th among the top 500 global companies in 2021.

MRDL has taken root in Pakistan for 20 years while adhering to the strategic positioning of a top runner of the Pakistani non-ferrous mining industry and main force of the China-Pakistan economic and industrial cooperation with the mission of maximizing resource utilization and corporate social values.

Targeted on making progress in the non-ferrous metal industry and building the dependency relationship of common destiny and harmonious co-existence with locals, MRDL has been highly recognized by the government and wider society. While promoting the comprehensive progress in Pakistan's nonferrous metals industry, MRDL also focused on building a Chinese-Pakistani technical team with rich experience in non-ferrous resources development and has made great contributions and achieved fruitful results in creating jobs, fulfilling social responsibilities, and stabilizing the border areas.

MRDL has won the Best Social Welfare Enterprise for several consecutive years; in 2019, it received the Corporate Social Welfare Contribution Award, which was presented by the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister; in June 2021, MRDL received the Top 100 Exporter Recognition Awards 2020 that was personally presented by Pakistani President Arif Alvi; in October 2021, it won the honorary title of the First Session of the Best Enterprise for Employees' Skills Development in Pakistan.

Looking into the future, with China Minmetals and MCC as its strong backup and traditional advantages, unique experience and trained teams working at the Gobi Desert for decades, as well as support from the Chinese and Pakistani governments, MRDL is willing to make joint efforts with the local society to promote the mining industry, especially non-ferrous mining, and devoting itself to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor for the realization of the New Pakistan Vision, and the portrayal of the Bright New Chapter for the resources exploitation and economic development in Balochistan as well as the further development of the China-Pakistan friendship.
