Ex-political adviser arrested for corruption

The Supreme People's Procuratorate has announced its decision to arrest Shen Deyong, a former senior political adviser, for suspected bribe-taking. The National Supervisory Commission has completed an investigation into Shen's case and transferred it to procuratorial authorities, the SPP said in a statement on Wednesday. Shen was formerly a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and head of the advisory body's committee on social and legal affairs.
