What they say

China Daily | Updated: 2022-09-29 00:00

After three days of intense activity in Ningbo, we were rewarded with an Asian-Games-themed entertainment program which I was longing for: kayaking, sailing, barbecue and camping.

We were invited to sail on a stretch of water right by Wanboofish Resort in Beilun district.

The wind was good, the air was clean and the temperature was perfect for my colleagues who discovered sailing and kayaking with joy. This was topped by a beautiful sunset which left the participants in an excellent mood for the barbecue organized on the beautiful lawn of this nice sailing resort in Ningbo.

It was with sadness that I took the train back to Hangzhou, which I am usually happy to return to. The trip left me in a nostalgic mood: when I sailed across the Atlantic Ocean as a skipper in 1980, there was no GPS, no long-distance transmitters for small sailboats, no satellite network to broadcast weather and I used a paper map, a wristwatch and a sextant for navigation as it was done in ancient times.

But I have to leave behind my old fashion vision of a world which has evolved so much that I have no choice but to embrace the future with new technology: these three days gave me a new vision about factory management and innovation with AI at the core.

In a matter of minutes, spectators around the world watched a large metal-shaped snowflake lift a lit torch — kicking off the Beijing 2022 Winter Games back in February. Yet the implementation of this spectacle took months of planning and hundreds of unnamed individuals spending countless hours preparing for this theatrical moment.

Athletes, singers, dancers and actors will always receive rave reviews and praise from the audience after their performance. However, most people don't realize how the lighting, sound, the acoustics and staging affect their perception of the show. Enter Dafeng Industrial, the unsung hero of China's cultural events. Based in Ningbo, the company provides a wide range of services for a wide variety of industries in China and internationally, including digital art technology, staging, sound, and lighting. They played a role in both Beijing Olympics, the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit, the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games, and countless shows and sporting competitions. If you are watching a show or competition, or taking a fast train in China, you most likely have witnessed elements of their work or are sitting on a chair they produced. The next time you attend a sporting event or theatrical performance, we encourage you to sit back, relax and marvel at the work of the unsung heroes before enjoying the show.

It all began with sound cables. The year was 1988 and the Ningbo-based Soundking Group embarked on a journey to make its mark in the world of sound.

The company offers different models of sound systems for conferences, cinema, education, and business organizations. Teachers no longer need to project their voice due to the overhead microphone and sound systems integrated within the classroom. College professors can utilize an app on their smartphone to control the sound systems within the auditorium as they are lecturing. International businesses can connect with each other online as if they are in person with the video cameras, sound systems, and video screens. Cities and high traffic places can ensure the safety of their community with the high-tech security systems.

Musicians and singers can capture every musical note and pitch with the sound systems and recording equipment. Movie theaters can provide their audience with an interactive movie experience due to Soundking's LED screen that has a 4K-8K HDR picture quality, is 100 times brighter than a traditional projector, and can play 3D films.

The future is bright in the world of sound and Soundking is one of the companies leading the way in making sure every voice or musical note is heard.
