CNGR produced nickel matte through its oxygen-enriched side-blown furnace production line in the CNGR Indonesia Industrial Park in Morowali on Oct 25. For the first time, CNGR utilized the OESBF technology to smelt lateritic nickel ore. It represents another breakthrough in global smelting technology and blazes a new technological trail for smelting lateritic nickel ore.

This industry-leading technology will make it possible to process Indonesia's lateritic nickel ore into battery-grade nickel, spur Indonesia's technological innovation in new energy materials and accelerate the development of Indonesia's new energy materials industry.

As a global leader in producing precursor materials for new energy, CNGR remains active in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past few years, it has established a 200-hectare industrial base in Qinzhou of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the world's largest research and development base, and Ningxiang industrial base in Changsha, Hunan province.

In 2021, CNGR launched an internationalization strategy that started in Indonesia. In September 2021, its industrial base in Morowali, Indonesia, broke ground and came online in just over one year, setting an example for China's overseas new energy materials projects.

This July, CNGR's other two industrial bases in Indonesia's Weda Bay and South Kalimantan also broke ground. In total, the three industrial bases cover an area of more than 450 hectares with a total investment of more than 30 trillion rupiah ($3 billion). In the first half of this year, CNGR's subsidiary, PT Zhongtsing New Energy, ranked third by investment amount in Indonesia. The Indonesian government spoke highly of its role in promoting the local economy as well as the industrial and social development.

Besides contributing to Indonesia's technological innovation of new energy materials and economic development, CNGR is ready and willing to fulfill its social responsibilities. It adheres to sustainable, green, and low-carbon development in Indonesia. In June, CNGR signed an MoU with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara to promote the use of green electricity, according to which CNGR's industrial bases in Indonesia will use green electricity to reduce carbon emissions. CNGR's project design, construction, production, operation, and environmental monitoring plans adopted standards that are significantly higher than the emission bar set by Indonesia and were approved by third-party on-site inspection. In terms of community dedication, CNGR cooperated with surrounding communities to organize diverse activities, including improvement in fire-fighting equipment, fundraising for infrastructure enhancement, and tree planting, thus enhancing the sense of happiness of residents and integrating with local communities.

As an international new energy materials manufacturer, CNGR always respects local culture and customs while conducting diverse cultural integration and exchange activities. Through a series of cultural activities such as Eid al-Fitr training, Indonesian language learning, and Indonesian cultural exchange and employee care activities such as employee birthday parties, CNGR has enriched employees' lives, helped Chinese and Indonesian employees integrate and grow together at a faster pace, enhanced mutual understanding of each other's excellent culture, and built a bridge of friendship between the two peoples.
