When Tesla, SpaceX and X CEO Elon Musk said in an interview that he hopes China and the United States can work together for global prosperity, he was stating something that makes perfect sense.

According to official data, China's GDP for 2022 is 121 trillion yuan ($16.97 trillion), or about 18 percent of the world's total, second only to that of the US(which is 25 percent of the world's total).

As the world's two largest economies, they can benefit the world by joining hands as much as they can cause damage to it by antagonizing each other.
