Chinese military a force for peace and justice
Chairman Mao Zedong was the principal founder and leader of the people's army. What we call Mao Zedong Thought today is a development of Marxism-Leninism, and military and political ideology by Mao Zedong. The People's Liberation Army, whose history dated back in 1927, is the people's force armed with Mao Zedong Thought.
Till the early 1930s, under the leadership of Mao Zedong and based on China's real situation, the army waged armed struggles in the rural areas where the Kuomintang regime was relatively weak, making it possible to use "rural areas to encircle the cities and finally seizing power in the cities and the whole country".
Under the guidance of Mao Zedong Thought, the people's army has fought bloody battles, and despite suffering losses, forged itself into a force of peace and justice. The Red Army was then forced to make a strategic shift and arrive in northern Shaanxi in triumph after the Long March (1934-36).
