Hebei braces for busy winter sports season

North China's Hebei province, which helped stage the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, has seen a winter sports boom since a series of measures were rolled out to promote related activities, leading residents to gradually fall in love with them.

The total output of the ice and snow industry in Hebei in 2022 reached 58.71 billion yuan ($8.23 billion), up 10.2 percent year-on-year, according to an announcement jointly released by the Hebei Provincial Bureau of Sports and the Hebei Provincial Bureau of Statistics in November.

The announcement detailed the total scale and added value of the province's ice and snow industry in 2022, which included related sports services, equipment and related product manufacturing, and related construction.
