Pact on no first use of nuke weapons mooted
Beijing released on Monday a working paper, calling on the nuclear-weapon states to adopt a "no first use" of nuclear weapons treaty. China encourages the five nuclear-weapon states to explore the conclusion of a treaty on the no first use of nuclear weapons or to issue a political statement on the issue, the Foreign Ministry said in the paper. Beijing has drafted four-point elements for discussion of a treaty or a statement, according to the paper. China calls on all parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons to actively respond to and support its proposal, it said.
