Xi's envoy hails France on hosting of Games

President Xi Jinping's Special Representative and State Councilor Shen Yiqin attended the closing ceremony of the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris on Sunday evening.

Prior to the closing ceremony, Shen had a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron. Shen conveyed warm regards from President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan and congratulated Paris on the successful hosting of the Olympic Games. She expressed gratitude for the support provided by the French side to the Chinese Olympic delegation.

Macron and his wife extended sincere greetings to Xi and his wife, congratulated the Chinese athletes on their outstanding achievements at the Paris Olympics, and thanked the Chinese government for its valuable support for the event.
