Lin-gang Special Area returns to CIIE in show of force
Partner of China International Import Expo sets up expansive exhibition area at city event
After debuting at the sixth China International Import Expo, the "Lin-gang exhibition area" returns to the 2024 CIIE with a brand-new image.
This year, it plans to focus on new quality productive forces, building innovation bridges, and paving the way for cooperation.
The seventh CIIE opened on Tuesday in Shanghai and will run until Nov 10.
As one of the close partners of the CIIE, Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group), also known as Lingang Group, under the guidance of the Administrative Committee of the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, is leveraging the international influence of the expo.
The exhibition provides new opportunities for foreign enterprises within Lin-gang to showcase their development achievements, establish cooperation networks, and expand their development scale.
At the same time, it offers a display and exchange stage for foreign enterprises with cooperation intentions, attracting them to focus on the parks affiliated with Lingang Group, and supporting their business development in Shanghai and China.
This year, the Lin-gang exhibition area is again situated in the prime spot of the main passage of the expo's technical equipment exhibition zone.
Covering a total of 2,700 square meters, it features the slogan "Open Chain World, Cooperate for the Future".
Approximately 70 foreign enterprises from nearly 20 countries and regions are participating in the area, showcasing various aspects of new quality productive forces, from artificial intelligence and new energy vehicles to fintech and innovation services.
This demonstrates Lin-gang's complete industrial system and comprehensive industrial ecosystem.
The Lin-gang exhibition area consists of four parts: the Lin-gang Special Area-themed pavilion, the institutional cooperation zone, the enterprise exhibition zone, and the interactive experience zone.
Among them, the themed pavilion is the focal point of the exhibition area, displaying the opening-up achievements of the Lin-gang Special Area in creating high-level institutional innovation, highly efficient business environments, and high-quality service systems.
It also showcases the latest achievements in cross-border data, finance, service trade and healthcare, as well as international innovation cooperation in the special area.
The institutional cooperation zone gathers foreign enterprises organized by entities such as Hong Kong-based Cyberport, Forbes Global Alliance's sci-tech branch, Japan's Mizuho Financial Group, the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China.
It also includes foreign enterprises representing 40 years of sci-tech and innovation development in Caohejing Hi-Tech Park.
The enterprises' exhibition zone features more than 10 foreign companies from Lingang Group's parks, showcasing the latest achievements in developing new quality productive forces, including hydrogen engines, automotive radars, five-axis machine tools for aviation, and liquefied natural gas equipment for ships.
The interactive experience zone, located at the entrance of the exhibition area, consists of a main hall, an Italian-style cafe, live broadcast rooms, an on-site writing room, small meeting rooms and a VIP lounge.
Exhibits such as a Lamborghini concept car and SoftBank Robotics' bipedal humanoid robot, NAO, and intelligent humanoid robot, Pepper, will be displayed at the zone, offering a novel experience to visitors.
This year, the Lin-gang exhibition area welcomes many new partners as well as returning friends, including Johnson Controls Hitachi.
A company representative said: "We sincerely thank Lingang Group for its strong support and trust. Johnson Controls Hitachi hopes to once again be a proud part of the Lin-gang exhibition area this year, perfectly integrating the overall concept of the exhibition area with the company's key fields, empowering each other and achieving a win-win situation."
Some foreign enterprises attending the CIIE for the first time expressed their admiration for the professionalism, dedication, efficiency and meticulous spirit of the organizers of the Lingang exhibition area.
They were attracted by the group's corporate service ecosystem and invited high-profile guests to participate in various activities at the Lin-gang exhibition area.
During the CIIE, the Lin-gang exhibition area will mainly organize 20 high-end, high-quality and high-level activities at the exhibition area.
Through various forms such as investment promotion, matchmaking, contract signing and product releases, these activities are expected to highlight the four major platforms of the CIIE: international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchange and open cooperation.
