・ By the end of last year, China's high-speed trains spanned about 48,000 kilometers across the country. It has the largest high-speed rail network in the world, accounting for more than 70 percent of railways covered by such trains across the globe.
・ China's high-speed trains saw 22.9 billion passenger trips by the end of 2024. They currently handle 76 percent of the nation's passenger trips and see 69 percent turnover in its passenger traffic.
・ In 2024, China's high-speed railway operated more than 8,600 trains per day, handling over 8.8 million passenger trips. On peak days, it ran over 10,000 trains and handled more than 16 million passenger trips.
