China has made progress in implementing its Trade Union Law, giving workers more secure, effective and professional assistance to protect their labor rights, a senior legislator said.
Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the country's top legislature, told an ongoing session of the committee that many provinces and regions have launched or revised local regulations on labor law supervision, collective bargaining, democratic management and special rights protections for female workers, based on the national Trade Union Law.
The Trade Union Law was first released in 1992, with its latest amended version published in 2021.
