At least 40,000 people were shot in the United States in 2025, including more than 14,600 deaths and over 26,100 injuries, according to preliminary statistics released on Thursday by the Gun Violence Archive. This means that, on average, more than 110 people were killed or injured by gun violence per day last year. The country saw at least 407 mass shooting incidents in 2025, according to the archive.
