As Celtics lead the betting in the East on the back of Tatum's timely return

Jayson Tatum's (left) timely return from a season-long Achilles injury has boosted the betting odds on the Boston Celtics, making them the top prospect from the Eastern Conference to fight for the NBA title, while Victor Wembanyama's (right) San Antonio Spurs are among the bookies' favorites to contest against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's (below) Oklahoma City Thunder for a Finals spot.

The odds indicate that the true NBA Finals will be a potential Western Conference showdown between the defending champion Thunder and a Spurs team that has had its way with Oklahoma City this season.

But the numbers also say that, as the NBA postseason begins, not to count out the Celtics, who are just two years removed from winning their record 18th championship.
